Do You Have A Thin, Dull Looking Lawn?
Do you want a thick, robust lawn that grows and spreads more laterally? Then it's time to start core aerating!
Restore and Replenish
RESTORE your lawn without trial and error. Core Aeration is a key process for eliminating soil compaction in your lawn and improving the overall health of your turf, including the root system, grass blades, and soil.
Here's What To Expect!
Think Green!
We're committed to giving you a thick, green, gorgeous lawn!
Core Aeration
Here's our process–
- Your tech will come out to your lawn and knock on your door to let you know the crew is there to core aerate your lawn.
- We will core aerate your lawn to allow more nutrients to reach the roots.
- Our Core Aerator tines will go approximately 1 to 3 inches deep into your soil.
- The plugs, or "cores," of soil are removed. Holes are left in the ground, and the core plugs are left on top of your lawn to dissolve back into the soil system with water.
- Core aeration reduces soil compaction, creating a channel through which oxygen, water, and nutrients can penetrate the soil and reach the roots.
Warm-Season Grass
Bermuda, Zoysia, St. Augustine
Core aeration for warm-season grasses is performed once a year in the Spring. Core Aeration will wake up your turf and help it transition out of dormancy much easier and faster, strengthening its roots after the long winter of dormancy.
Root Expansion
Let roots breathe!
Compacted soil severely reduces the ability of your root system to expand and take in water and nutrients. Core aeration relieves soil compaction and promotes the expansion of the roots, which leads to thicker, healthier grass.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Do all lawns need to be core aerated and seeded?
Actually, no! We recommend that all lawns be core aerated annually, but only cool-season grasses such as Tall Fescue need to be seeded yearly. Warm-season grasses such as Bermuda, Zoysia, and St. Augustine thrive in summer heat because they like the warm weather. They will go dormant in the winter, but wake back up once the weather warms up again. Therefore, they do not need to be reseeded.
If you have a cool-season lawn, please see our aeration & seeding program instead!
-
So I only need to seed my lawn if it is a cool-season grass?
That's right! Cool-season grasses, like Tall Fescue, suffer in the summer heat, which causes thin areas to appear. That's why you reseed your lawn every fall to fill in those areas and keep your lawn looking full and healthy.
If you have a cool-season lawn, please see our aeration & seeding program instead!
-
How often do I core aerate my lawn?
Just once a year! We recommend that you get your lawn core aerated annually. Late spring into early summer is the perfect time to core aerate your warm-season lawn, because that's when the weather starts to warm up enough for Bermuda, Zoysia, and St. Augustine grass to begin to thrive again.
-
Is there a specific time of year to core aerate my lawn?
Yes! Late spring, early summer is the perfect time to core aerate your warm-season lawn. In fact, we only offer the service in that time each year because any other time period would not be beneficial for your lawn's health.
-
Do I need to prep anything in my lawn before you come to aerate it for me?
Yes! Just a few simple requests that we ask–
- Please mark any sprinkler heads and invisible dog fences so that our aerating machines don't accidentally take them out. A flag or cone should be sufficient to make your tech notice.
- Water your lawn about 2 hours the night prior to your scheduled aeration and seeding so that the soil is soft enough for us to pull cores out from.
- Please visit our blog How To Prep For Aeration & Seeding for any other information.
